Falling for Fall

September 22nd marked the first day of Fall in 2017. At Wish and Pink, Fall happens to be one of our favorite seasons. We’re in love with cozy evenings at home snuggled up with our favorite treats, surrounded by scented candles, and our latest obsession…

Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules.

Before you group us into those obsessed with all things Pumpkin-Spice, hear us out! I think everyone knows we love our Moscow Mules. Jessica, the author of Fab 5 Mom, reached out to us and we collaborated to create this b-e-a-utiful custom Father’s Day gift for former Seahawks player Marcus Trufrant.

 

We also have our curated It’s a Guy Thing box filled with a carry-on cocktail kit! All you need is a little Vodka and some ginger beer!

 

So, now that we’ve established our true and undying love for Moscow Mules. Let’s talk about the Pumpkin Spice Mule. It’s a spiced-up version (literally) of our favorite cocktail and just sipping it will bring your right into the coziness of fall. The trick is making your own syrup (DIY? Yes, please!).

A Toast to Love!

However you spent your Valentine’s Day, we hope it was a time of savoring the blessings of family, friends and activities that bring you joy.

I was lucky to be surrounded by all those blessings just before the Feast of St. Valentine (who, btw, was a martyred priest who literally gave his life for love) when a few of my girlfriends joined me for a day of awesome treats, laughter and creating dried-flower bouquets for Wish & Pink’s new FROM THE HEART collection.

For this mid-week work (?!) party, Tami Cline of Interior Works transformed my house into a magical party venue worthy of a spread in ELLE Décor. From rustic pitchers overflowing with pink tulips and confetti-filled (how DO they do that??) oversized balloons, to a dessert table aglow with the same pink Glassybaby votives found in my FROM THE HEART boxes and understated place settings serving as a backdrop for boxes of Oak & Ashland coconut rose lip balm (yes, another little luxury in our FROM THE HEART collection), the setting perfectly captured the elegant simplicity we strive for at Wish & Pink.

Speaking of “captured”, Alanna Maria Photography did just that when it came to documenting a day of good friends celebrating one another and an idea they believed in, whole-heartedly supported and eventually saw bloom into a company devoted to all things beautiful.

And, ohhhh, the food… Heart-shaped shortbread cookies and a “naked” (love this trend of an “exposed” multi-layer cake washed in translucent fondant) vanilla cake topped with flowers (spring definitely was in the air that day!) reminded me why Jenny Cookies is a part of every Wish & Pink event. In fact, Jenny Keller, whose fabulous desserts have been featured in People and Brides magazines, inspired our Blissful Baker box, which contains a copy of her cookbook, “Eat More Dessert”. Add to the festivities chocolate fondue with fruit dippers and a flute or two (or three, but hey, it’s a party) of Veuve Cliquot brut (so perfectly festive we chose it for our Celebration gift box) and, well, you get the picture!

Note to my accountant: This really was a work party! Tucked into every FROM THE HEART gift box is a bouquet of everlasting flowers chosen, arranged and hand-tied by one of us at the party.

February 14 will forever be associated with Valentine’s Day, but for me it’s also a reminder that spring is not far away. At Wish & Pink we’re bubbling over with fresh ideas for Mother’s Day, Easter, graduation and Father’s Day gift boxes, because we believe love is too wonderful to be expressed only on a single day in February.
